II. AACR2 rules and regulations will be followed for all cataloging.
III. Alexandria will be used to catalog all materials. Cataloging enrichment should be accomplished at the discretion of the librarians.
IV. Subject headings will be taken from Library of Congress. At least three subject headings should be used for any original cataloging.
Copy Cataloging
I. Copy cataloging (downloading records from other systems) will be used for materials that do not arrive with cataloging as often as possible.
II. Records will be taken from shared catalogs in Alexandria when possible or by searching the following systems: INFOhio, Library of Congress, and OCLC Cat Express (as last resort).
III. All copied records must be checked for accuracy and consistency with CIP data (if available) and general CA library guidelines.
Original Cataloging
I. Librarians will create all original catalog records using AACR2.
II. Consistency in original cataloging must be maintained as strictly as possible.
